Soul warrior
Sword in hand
Ready for battle
She is the Soul Warrior.
See her as she moves onto the field
Full of valour
She knows what her calling requires of her-
Of this she is well aware-
Remembering the sufferings,
The sacrifices,
The tears.
She knows the stench of failure
As well as she knows the taste of victory-
The bitter with the sweet.
She is the Soul Warrior.
Life and death, anguish and
Happiness
She has seen it all-
She has the scars to prove it.
Like Another who travelled this same road,
She knows what is in man.
Nevertheless, she,
The Soul Warrior,
Is not jaded.
Ravaged by time, maybe,
By the harshness of her existence
But worn out?
Disheartened?
Never!
With calloused hands
And well-worn knees,
She knows that her power does not reside within her.
Like the Psalmist,
She knows whence comes her
Strength.
Lifting her gaze heavenward,
A smile like no other
known to the world
Lights her face:
She can go on,
She will go on.
The strife is not yet over
There is still work to be done
For the Soul Warrior.

Epée à la main,
Prête à lutter
Elle est la Soul Warrior
Regarde-la comme elle s’installe sur le champ de bataille
Remplie de vaillance.
Elle sait ce que sa vocation exige d’elle,
Elle en est bien consciente.
Se souvenant des souffrances,
Des sacrifices,
Des larmes,
Elle connaît la puanteur de l’échec
Aussi bien que le goût de la victoire.
L’amer avec le doux.
Elle est la Soul Warrior.
La vie et la mort,
L’angoisse et le bonheur,
Elle a tout vécu.
Elle peut t’en montrer les blessures.
Comme Un Autre qui a traversé ce même chemin,
Elle sait ce que le cœur de l’homme contient.
Pourtant, elle n’en est pas éreintée,
La Soul Warrior
Ravagée, peut-être, par le temps,
Par la dureté de l’existence qu’elle mène
Mais surmenée ? Epuisée ?
Pas du tout
(Tu la reconnaîtras)
Par ses main bien calleuses,
Par ses genoux bien usés.
Elle sait que son pouvoir n’est pas en elle-même.
Comme David, elle sait d’où vient sa force.
Levant ses yeux vers le ciel,
Un sourire, inconnu au monde
L’illumine.
Elle peut aller en avant,
Elle va continuer.
La lutte n’est pas encore terminée.
Elle a encore du travail à réaliser-
La SOUL WARRIOR.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
